I was shelving the other day in my branch library’s Young Adult collection. This collection was chock-full of great titles and authors. But all I’ve heard about lately is Twilight this and Twilight that… and while I admit that I have read the books and guiltily enjoyed them – I want something else!
I say let’s start a trend here at the Gold Coast for a book or series of books that resonates with us – we should create the buzz for the Next Big Thing…
Why hasn’t the Tomorrow Series been made into a movie? Why haven’t more Melina Marchetta books made the big screen?
What is the YA book that you want to see make it big – and for you to be able to say “Oh, I’ve already read that!” when you start to hear the mumblings about a new “Big Thing”.

Ok, I’m biased, but I’d love for LOATHING LOLA to make it big – on account of wanting to afford dinner occasionally… 😛

I have only read one of the books in the Uglies series – but I agree… I love being ablet to say – “I’ve read that one – and it is great! – hope the movie is just as good!”

I would love to see the Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld made into a films! The scenes involving hoverboards and the “Specials'” superhuman abilities would be unreal!

The film of Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist came out in the US not long ago, and should be here soon! 🙂
