MY call – room at the back

25 November 2010

There’s room for everyone…. apparently.

Our Local Studies librarians have found this image from the 1920s of a chap called Clarrie Francis, taking residents to Tallebudgera Creek for a picnic in his bus, in the archives of Picture Gold Coast.

Can you come up with a funny caption for it?

Here are the Local Studies suggestions for a caption to get you started:

“Do you think this bus may be a little overcrowded?”

or

“Will we fit through the McDonalds’ drive-through?”

How do you get to school? Walk, drive, ride a bike or skate?
Our Local Studies librarians have searched through the archives of Picture Gold Coast to find this photo of kids from Merrimac and Mudgeeraba schools, from around 1922.

Can you come up with a funny caption for it?

Here are the Local Studies suggestions for a caption to get you started:

or

“What do you mean the school bus has broken down?”

MY call….on horseback

10 June 2010

Back in the days when horsepower meant….. horse power, there were definite advantages to having a long-backed beastie. Our Local Studies librarians searched through the archives of Picture Gold Coast to find this photo.

Now we need a good caption for it.

Here’s their suggestion to get you started:

“Why do I always have to ride in the back?”
