Voting is now open! All you have to do is pick your top 10 favourite songs for 2009 and you go in the draw to win the GOLDEN TICKET! (Yes, I am screaming!) This is your double pass to EACH and EVERY gig and festival that triple j presents in 2010. Wouldn’t that be fabulous?

By voting you are taking part in the world’s biggest musical democracy. You’re also joining a world-wide party as listeners in Australia and ex-pats everywhere get together, crank up the radio and party to the best songs of 2009.

A quick tip-off: Manga madness!

29 March 2009

Borders is currently running a fantastic competition in which you could win a personally designed and autographed artwork by the creator of the popular Fruits Basket series, Natsuki Takaya.

This competition is great because it rewards creativity, with all entrants required to create their own short Manga comic featuring Tohru Honda, with an Australian twist! Entries can then be emailed in. For all the details, click on the link above and scroll to the very bottom of the page.

Be quick! The competition opens today, but entries close on 9 April 2009. Good luck!

Brisbane Writers Festival and more…

9 September 2008

With the Brisbane Writers Festival just around the corner, I thought I would share a great website: Lighting Bug.

This site is for young writers, so it definitely isn’t filled with boring writing exercises and plot guides. With intriguing story ideas, links to author blogs and contact details for Australian writing competitions and awards, it is sure to get those creative ideas flowing.  Why not break out that pencil and give it a try?
