Schoolies 09 is here!

Some of you may have been dreading its approach or counting the days from your first day in grade 1. I was sitting on the fence, excited and worried all at the same time. Whichever it may be for you it is a time to celebrate your schooling career (or its end!) and embark on the adventures ahead. I hope that all blurb it schoolies are having a ball – whatever they are doing or wherever they are. Remember, be safe and watch your mates.

For all those starting year 12 next year – you should be thinking about Schoolies right about now. Just because you live on the GC doesn’t mean you have to stay here for schoolies. How about a camping trip, an overseas trip or you could even start looking for work. Think of the head start you’ll be getting on everyone.

Schoolies can be expensive or it can be really cheap, it all depends on what you want to do. Before you book any rooms or campsites or airfares, ask yourself a few questions…

What do I want to get out of Schoolies?

Who do I want to spend it with?

How much money can I afford to spend?

What kind of memories do I want to make or am I keen to forget the schoolie hoopla and celebrate/commiserate in my own way?

The official Schoolies website has a wealth of information for you to consider. Have a look and then consider your options. There are also a few Schoolies forums out there with lots of tips and tricks. Keep informed and remember, Schoolies may be more than 12 months away and a lot of things can happen/change in 12 months.
