The Book of Lies By James Moloney
I’ve just finished The Book of Lies by James Moloney.

An excellent read!  This one really keeps you thinking…”What’s going to happen next?” … “How do they get out of this one?”

You really have to remember the details though – Moloney weaves a marvelous story with a lot of attention to detail!

From the book jacket:

In the dead of night, four faceless men bring a sleeping boy to an orphanage in the remote high country of Elster. Here, an ageing wizard, Lord Alwyn, steals away the boy’s memory using the magical Book of Lies. But Lord Alwyn is secretly thwarted by a girl called Bea, who hears the boy’s name, Marcel. When a stranger arrives, Marcel discovers he has a vital part to play if the Kingdom is to be saved from evil.

When Lords and Ladies quest for fame

A Beast will touch the land with flame

Good man will die, their wives will mourn

While children weep for fathers gone

When Lords and Ladies quest for fame

A Beast will touch the land with flame

Good men will die, their wives will mourn

While children weep for fathers gone

With swords for teeth and skin of steel

With arrowed claw and poisned heel

The beast will grow and spread it’s wings

Destroying rogues and making Kings

When all my pages fill with lies

Let slip the beast and see it rise

Till one who understands this verse

Commands the Beast and breaks its curse

Master Of The Books By James Moloney

I’m just about to start the sequel, Master of the Books! If anyone has already read it, let me know what you thought!
