What Would you Do?

Having just read “Tomorrow when the World Began” by John Marsden the first book in the “Tomorrow” series, I can understand its continued popularity. This series about a group of kids discovering, that while they have been away camping in the bush, a war has begun and their families have been taken hostage in the showground, makes compelling reading.
There are seven books in this series :

  • Tomorrow when the war Began
  • The dead of the Night
  • Third Day the frost
  • Darkness be my friend
  • Burning for revenge
  • Night is for hunting
  • The Other side of dawn

According to the author, he first had the idea for this series while watching an ANZAC Day parade. His wondered how modern day Australians, especially young people, would react to war on their doorstep. These thoughts led to this remarkable series. It also makes us think.

What would you do?

I’ve read the first book and really enjoyed it. I should probably read the rest.

I lurve this series! I’ve read it, and re-read it, and I’m planning on reading it again! But this time round, I’m going to listen! The library has the whole series as downloadable eAudiobooks. Just search for “Tomorrow series” on our OverDrive site at http://goldcoast.lib.overdrive.com.
