It’s Inky Inside a Dog

by

Voting is now open in Australia’s only teenage-choice book awards, the Inkys!

The Inky is a relatively new award run by the State Library of Victoria’s Inside a Dog service (check out their site – there are great book reviews, opportunities to contribute, author interviews and loads more).

Books up for the coveted gold and silver Inky trophies this year are

  • Town by James Roy
  • Tales from outer suburbia by Shaun Tan (not yet in the collection – place a hold and we’ll let you know when it’s available)
  • A brief history of Montmaray by Michelle Cooper (not yet in the collection – place a hold and we’ll let you know when it’s available)
  • Genesis by Bernard Beckett
  • Boy toy by Barry Lyga
  • Before I die by Jenny Downham (not yet in the collection – place a hold and we’ll let you know when it’s available)

Cast your vote by 27 October!

Are you the creative type? Check out the Inkys Creative Reading Prize, where you can win a digital stills camera, a digital video camera or an iPod touch, just by creating a response to one of the longlisted books.

Read one of the shortlisted books? Post a comment and tell us what you thought of it.
